Tales from the Book Nerd-14

…because we could all use a good book and a stiff drink.

Hello, all! I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Happy VIPER’S NEST ROADHOUSE & CAFE Day! Sam & Clive’s 6th book is out. Thank you all for your continued support! It means the world to me.

Garyn, Clive’s maker, is coming to town, much to Sam’s dismay. Sam, Clive, and Fergus are finally in their new home, but Garyn and her entourage are causing no end of trouble. Some key battles in Viper’s Nest take place in a couple of rather famous San Francisco locales. I’ll give you a hint about one: I loved writing about the home vampires swinging baseball bats as they waded into a brawl.

For those who prefer listening to the audiobook, it’ll be out on December 12th. I’m very excited that Samantha Desz is again giving voice to my story.

Sam & Clive will be back next October in The Bloody Ruin Asylum & Taproom. We’re going to Budapest, y’all!

WICCHE HUNT, the second book in the Sea Wicche Chronicles will be out April 16, 2024.

Would you like to join The Slaughtered Lamb Staff Lounge? It’s a facebook group where we share Sam Quinn news, book recommendations, and random fun stuff. We’d love to have you join us!

In other news, I’ll be attending the Chicago Spring Fling conference. I’ll be one of the authors signing books on Saturday April 20th at the Renaissance Chicago-O’Hare Suites. If you live nearby, I’d love to see you 😊

If you have print copies of my books and would like them signed, just let me know. I can sign bookplate stickers and mail them to you. I’ve done this for a couple of readers and would be happy to do it for any of you

 Happy reading!

As I’m also a (now retired *woot woot*) librarian, I want to share the title of an amazing book I think you might enjoy. I’ll switch up the genres in each newsletter. If you like any of the books I suggest, remember to write a quick review for it. Reviews helps authors

Literary Fiction (leaning toward historical mystery/romance) The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies by Alison Goodman. Dang, I loved this book! Set in Regency London, Lady Augusta and her twin Lady Julia, women of a certain spinsterish age, use their invisibility in society to right wrongs and extract other women in need from dangerous and abusive situations. They are quite the amateur sleuths and who’d ever expect such refined ladies of breaking into brothels and punching burly men? I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out!

😊 Happy Reading!
