Happy HOB & HOUND PUB Day!
I hope this newsletter finds you well. Sam and Clive are finally on their honeymoon and while much of it is perfect, the kidnappings have been a definite lowlight. Still, at least they have Paris!
If you didn’t see my social media posts, Chirp has the first three audiobooks in the Sam Quinn series on sale until 5/1. The Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore & Bar is only $2.99. The Dead Don’t Drink at Lafitte’s and The Wicche Glass Tavern are only $3.99! Snap them up before the sale ends! The narrator Samantha Desz is fantastic and really brings the books to life.
Also, I have a giveaway coordinated with the release of The Hob & Hound Pub. Just post a pic of you with your copy of The Hob & Hound Pub—don’t forget to tag me—and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win an insulated Slaughtered Lamb water bottle. (I’m on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) Next up is BIERGARTEN OF THE DAMNED, Sam Quinn book 5.
There’s a reason Dave has been working for Sam since she opened The Slaughtered Lamb. When she finds out why, she may never be able to forgive him. I really hope you all enjoy The Hob & Hound Pub! Let me just say, I wish I had a dragon folly
Book Recommendation Corner
As I’m also a librarian, I want to share titles of amazing books you might want to pick up. I’ll switch up the genres in each newsletter. If you like any of the books I suggest, remember to write a quick review for it. Reviews helps authors <3
Romance: Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands. I first became aware of Lynsay Sands through her paranormal Argeneau vampire series. While I was waiting for the next vampire book many years ago, I dipped into her historical romance and then proceeded to read every one. I love Sands because her books are always funny and sexy—my favorite combo. In this one, our heroine has extraordinarily poor eyesight. She has glasses but her mother refuses to let her wear them as she believes suitors will find them hideous.
Her nearsighted issues lead to horribly embarrassing situations. Our hero was in war and bears the scars. He’s the quintessential grumpy hero, who assumes everyone is staring at him because of those scars. Our heroine can’t see him, which suits him just fine. Will he make sure she wears her glasses, even though he feels exposed, or will he follow her mother’s lead?
Young Adult: As I’m a young adult librarian, you’ll see this genre in every newsletter. This month’s recommendation is I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga. Lyga is one of those authors who walks the line between young adult and adult, writing wonderfully dark and edgy books. In this one, our main character is the son of a serial killer. Every day was take- your-son-to-work day for Jazz. His father was finally caught and imprisoned. Jazz is now a few months short of his 18th birthday and a body is found in his small town. Jazz knows all there is to know about serial killers and wants to use that knowledge to help the police catch a killer. The sheriff isn’t interested in an 18-year-old’s opinion and thinks for the safety of all, including Jazz, he should stay out of it. As you might guess, he doesn’t stay out of it. This is the first of a trilogy and they were all fantastic!
Fantasy: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. This is the first in the Night Huntress series. Our main character Cat is a half vampire. She’s been told all her life by her mother that she’s a monster—never mind that mom was the one who had sex with a vampire! Sure, blame Cat. Anyway, Cat has been using her enhanced speed and strength to hunt and kill full vampires, ridding the world of evil. She’s quite effective until she meets Bones, a very old, powerful, and sexy vampire. Instead of killing her, he decides to train her properly. They are one of my favorite paranormal couples.
😊 Happy Reading!
