Tales from the Book Nerd-5

…because we could all use a good book and a stiff drink.

Happy Merry to all! I hope this newsletter finds your well. As a birthday present to me, I decided to gift you with a free holiday short story featuring everyone’s favorite wicche and dragon couple. Owen and George are navigating family issues—specifically the Grandmother of Dragons—revisiting traumatic pasts, and considering the possibility of moving in together. You’ll also get a sneak peek into what Sam and Clive are up to in England.
Included in this story is an extended excerpt of The Hob & Hound Pub, as well as the first look at the cover.
Thank you to everyone who purchased The Wicche Glass Tavern! It made the USA Today Bestsellers list. You can either click on the book cover above or click the title here to download All I Want for Christmas Is a Dragon.
Book Recommendation Corner
As I’m also a librarian, I want to share titles of amazing books you might want to pick up. I’ll switch up the genres in each newsletter. If you like any of the books I suggest, remember to write a quick review for it. Reviews helps authors <3
Romantic Suspense: The In Death series by J.D. Robb. This is Nora Roberts’ futuristic police procedural series (54 books and counting). The first in the series is Naked in Death. In it, we’re introduced to Eve Dallas, a homicide lieutenant in 2058 New York. It’s dark and gritty and I absolutely love all the books. The pandemic totally threw me off my reading game. I couldn’t focus on anything for more than a paragraph or two. It was this series that pulled me back in <3

Young Adult: As I’m a young adult librarian, you’ll see this genre in every newsletter. This month’s recommendation is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. This book is set in the 80s in a small Texas town and follows two teenaged boys whose reluctant friendship turns into so much more. It is a beautiful story that will stay with you.
Mystery: The Rockton series by Kelley Armstrong. The first in this series is City of the Lost. Our main character Casey is a Toronto detective who believes her past is finally catching up with her and goes on the run. She takes a job in an off- the-grid town in the upper Yukon, away from everything and everyone. The town is filled with others like herself, people who needed to go into hiding for a variety of reasons. Casey is hired because they have a killer. All of the books in this series are great!
😊 Happy Reading!
